Thread regarding Ally Financial Inc. layoffs

So why is the economy so bad?

I know the obvious answer is because of who the POTUS is. But how does the market continue to rise despite unemployment likely to hit 30-40 percent by Q1 2027

You're out here flexing ignorance and casting aspersions. You should find your way to your local library and pick up a book on economics.

What does the "Stock Market" have to do with "the Economy"??

LOL

Conduct a fun little experiment:
The next time a company announces a big LAYOFF....

Pay attention to which directiion their stock moves.

If you havent figured it out yet, the stock market is just legal gambling. Its placing a bet that the value of whatever you put your money into will go up and you can get a payday from it, eventually. I dont think its retail investors driving it up, its the large institutions and the wealthy (POTUS and cronies) moving millions. So as long as it appears there is ROI then the market remains OK.
