There are a ton of incompetent workers too.
People rail on the government or public sector (good job Reagan for that misdirect)…but there’s an absolute ton of incompetent workers at oracle.
Don’t believe me? Ask them to create a pivot table or do a v lookup

Incompetent overly self-important blowhards. Vast majority of them deserve to get laid off.
@c7 As a former IC who worked under some horrible managers, I appreciate your honesty about the view going up. I think for me. What hurt the most…was all the non work related stuff our managers and even our directors and VP’s did to good people. I never see any of them around where I live and I’m thankful for that. We were part of a GBU for 15 years I was there. Lots of trashy slimy people. They hurt a lot of people and I know they will realize it later on….
I heard a quote about a company on the radio. “We treat people good and good people stay here.” Such a simple concept that Oracle failed at during time. I pray no one I’m close to ever works there.
They reached the max value of incompetence, for this reason they are Managers and they don't generate a buck of revenues
It's all irrelevant now, AI process transformation will reshape the whole process and roles around management, so it's their second chance to become/stay relevant. On per-person basis.
My manager is so micromanaging it is suffocating. She is based in RWS nasty person..
My experience as an m5, those above didn't want to hear the truth of why delivery after delivery was late. All they wanted was to be able to say "yes" to their SVP then divert the blame when the inevitably predicted slippage and issues hit. Ive worked with some incredible ICs, and built some incredible software, but the multitude of organisational failures have, IMO, always been the making of career VPs

And some good managers are constrained by the system they have to work in. The last 2 good managers I had left the company. now yup, mgt by spreadsheet. Oh you want something? don't bother me.
It was an M5 that effectively gaslit me and other members of my team effectively sidelining our careers while taking all of the spotlight. So much more to say about this clown. They were a master class in corporate politics.
All managers? Asking as I'm an M5. I agree on people above me that stray into VP territory. You know, the ones that have buckets of RSUs and just a spreadsheet of numbers (not employee names) driving their decisions.
