Everything NetApp tracks could be better handled by bespoke AI-built monitoring solutions. Google knows this.

If only for the gigantic conflict of interest issues this acquisition would cause this seems improbable to me. "So you are saying you want Google to acquire your brother's company..."

@a9 There is a reliable business model underneath NetApp that collects multiple billions of dollars from the market yearly. NetApp really does well in multi-protocol NAS (which is not easy), security, reliability, and performance. They have SAN capabilities that are serviceable. Their US Government business is solid and reliable. They have good supply chain management practices that avoid single vendor lock in. Cisco, Microsoft, Google or Seagate might benefit from acquiring an Enterprise Storage vendor with reliable revenue streams. Oh, have you noticed NetApp's margins? They run a very tight fisted business, extracting maximum value from their offering.
