Thread regarding CDW layoffs

Rebounding

Have to give credit when due. Our stock rebounded last week. Is that a sign of recovery or only one week of positive gains. I am not a financial guru so I am asking.

The rebound was stock buybacks. That's it. There's a freeze on training, travel, and pretty much everything else. It's a bold faced lie to say we're the experts when we can't even do any training on current trends.

@OP
Credit due to who?
And trying to credit the very leadership that flipped CDW from a solid company that cared about customers and coworkers to one that gets rid of coworkers when the going gets tough so leadership can keep bonuses and high pay while they cut pay and get rid of people.
Funny how these issues only sprung up under the current leadership and not the previous CEO's or the founder.
Interesting right.
You should Credit people that are holding stock and those buying.

@1bh
They're actively hiring people...just look at LinkedIn with recent college graduates announcing they got jobs with CDW (CDW is liking the posts lol)...
While they let go of tenured coworkers.
The newbies won't realize anything for awhile and will think whatever issues they encounter is just normal corporate stuff.

Meanwhile, I was told a hiring freeze and patchy travel freeze is in effect.

this, coupled with stock buybacks tell me layoffs may be next. Those of you who have been around 5+ years should know the signs.

There's an article from yesterday (5/26) saying CDW fair market value is $147 a share and that shares were oversold...on top of the $1 billion additional share buyback.
I think in terms of thw market...the share repurchase bought time....but leadership better hope foe repeated strong beats compared to similar competitors and the tech market as a whole (which is booming).

Down 2 percent today. Come on board members. Make the move. Your shareholders and coworkers are depending on you .

Ah, a simple shot in the arm of a buy back. That will only have minimal impact. Desperate attempt. When does the board rescue us???

A week is too short of time to tell but it’s a good sign. Let’s hope it continues. We need some good news .
