Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Current environment at WF

This is 1000% Wells Fargo today: The most dangerous workplace bully isn't your coworker, it's your manager. Because when the person targeting you also controls performance, documentation, and reputation, it's not conflict, it's leverage.

Someone's behavior I'd never would have expected theyd ever do: left on good terms and everything so it was a little surprising and odd.

  • Not checking on me after being laid off at any point despite texting, social media, emails etc. since that day.
  • Gave an IM rating and not even told about it until checking in workday.
  • wont write any ecommendations or endorse when sincerely asking, won't follow me back etc.
  • but find out in passing others are...
It's as if this person fallen off the face of the earth but only to me for some reason. I can't explain it. We had a good working relationship.

Imagine doing what your boss asks as part of a job. Crazy that management holds people accountable.

@a6 good to see some common sense on this site once in awhile.

Managers are in the exact same position as you. They are just shoveling the S that they are told. And I don't want to hear about how they should push back or leave, yada yada yada. They have mouths to feed too. The same people are complaining about how bad the job market is, so why would a manger quit?

Because when you have AI write a two-sentence post saying nothing for you, it's not profound - it's cringe

OP has no idea what they are talking about. Your manager is not a threat at all. Your executive is. They are the ones making all the real decisions and driving all the S down hill on to you. Your manager wouldn't be interested in getting rid of you unless you're a legit performance issue. The executive wants you gone even if you're the greatest employee of all time.

The internal damage being inflicted upon Wells is enormous. It's like the alcoholic who thinks his outward appearance is fine but is ki-ling himself from within.

It will take years for the next CEO (assuming actually sincere) to fix this mess. And I'm not sure it can be fixed. All of this starts from the top and it's completely rotten. I've seen people with 30+ of banking experience shown the door. This eventually bites you in the a-s as a company. But Scharf truly DOES NOT care. It's all about now and today's stock price. The future is not in the interst of this regime.

What has been allowed to happen to this bank by a BOD that consistently turns its back is obscene. Nothing will change in the near future. I'm retirement age so I'm waiting on a package. But for the younger ones.... I'd get the he-l out.
