Thread regarding Fannie Mae layoffs

This place has become unrecognizable

I never thought it would come to this - me hoping to be selected for layoffs after so many years.

I think its worse for the people who wanted to be let go and weren't. It is amazing how I'm not upset at all shows me this is worth it. Otherwise I would have eventually quit or been miserable for longer.

@cw
100% agreed with your comment and I share the same sentiment.
There were already several people who wanted to be let go (mgr, sr mgr level) but they all are around. Very surprised no impact on the business folks on the finance side…which is super bloated than tech.
Majority of the cuts was in Finance.
Key personnel were deemed as All the VPs, All Directors, Loads of Managers leading tech smes (worker bees) of the processes and Advisors that are friends of VPs. True the Directors and VPs are protecting themselves and their jobs to hit the numbers.
I am not bitter about this one bit, but hey, we know what they say about Karma.
I will miss working with several people but other than that, I am so glad it’s over.

I was blessed enough to be laid off and really good severance, I think its going to get worse and people will be wishing to be let go. They let go some top people that makes no sense, other than to scare everyone else into worshiping the company or be gone. Management there are just protecting themselves and completely useless.

@a2 talent retention was a big deciding factor choosing offer back in a day. But now leadership talks cr-p and makes weird decisions that make zero sense
