Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

How is your pay nowadays?

If you factor in actual inflation, rather than the numbers the government reports, wages are falling rapidly.

And both political parties share the blame. We have an uniparty anyway.

Have you looked at the price of a new car lately? Or a refrigerator? Or even steak?

I feel well-compensated for what I do.

My problem with WF is that they no longer trust me to accomplish the things I've been accomplishing for 10+ years without obsessing over where I do it (home vs. office) and how long it takes me to do it (needing to stay 8 hours in the office on a Friday when I have nothing left to do after 6 hours).

I could always get paid more. It's the American way

Some get more compared to others - but generally wages are suppressed in the US for the longest time. People that disagree don’t understand inflation fundamentally.

My pay is fine, but I'm close to retirement. I feel bad for the younger workers who not only have low pay, but no reason prospects for a long career here.

Worse than FAANG
Better than McD, BK

Inflation is out of control. Combat it by packing lunch, not eating out, switch to prepaid etc. And Invest in Stocks

@a6 - what fared worse? culture or pay?

for me, it's hard to say - probably culture, but pay is melting down too.

Definitely gone down but I never had a complaint about pay or benefits at WFC. Was always happy to work here. But the culture has tanked in the last year and even with good pay most people hate it here now.
