Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

It is Friday and I am looking forward to seeing others on the commute.

There is something different about Friday in Downtown Dallas. The week is nearly done, and you can feel it. The pace is still fast, but the mood is lighter.

On my way to AT&T, I notice the people around me more. The coffee cups, quick steps, quiet faces, and small signs of relief. Everyone is still moving, but Friday gives the commute a different energy.

It is not just a commute. It is a reminder that we are all showing up, pushing through, and making it to the end of another week. Friday makes the city feel more human. I am looking forward to seeing others on the commute.

Not in Atlanta. No one is around.

Commute home started at 1p today. After finishing work on Thursday I only had 7 hours left to get to my weekly 40 hours. So, if you want to see me on the commute, you have to start early!

Going to be no more assigned trucks pretty soon. No more taking them home. Have to go to the yard every day, find a truck, checkout all tools and equipment. How would you all feel?
And for the record, I’ve done your tech job and far worse. I’m an exempt employee, not a manager as I manage no one nor do my decisions impact any employee, as are just about ALL the people working at an office. Stop the back and forth on this, it’s a workers rights conversation. People in offices want an assigned desk if we are going to be here every day. They want normalcy. If one of you techs had to sit in some of these corporate offices, you’d be filing grievances daily.

@OP, I look forward to seeing everyone in the office and saying "ya know, no other company has their people in the office until 5 pm on Friday before Memorial Day except this one."

This is great. So much collaboration today. I think our stock will get over $30 today!! I'm going to ki-l it on version 32 of my PPT deck. Maybe get on a Teams call or two today.
