Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

March Layoff Numbers

I was one of the unlucky/lucky ones that got laid off in March with a Termination date of June 30th. Does anyone have any idea how many employees were laid off in that last round of RIFs in March?

@a7 notice periods vary. In Europe it depends sometimes on age, most of the time on law or contractual.

@e3 just another seamless plan executed by these executives. This shows the shifting sands that drive these decisions.

@a7 I was told this was due to knowledge transfer. My job was eliminated but I need to train a replacement. Here we are mid-May and there is no replacement. Typical FIS logic. I have a bunch of vacation time to use up before June 30th and I have a feeling when my replacement shows up, I will be on vacation.

@a7 my understanding that that the ninety days was for knowledge transfer to their replacements.

@OP Based on the number of us rebadged (using Cognizant town hall invitee numbers), I would guess 2-3k employees. The director I report up to has 75 employees reporting under her. 20 were rebadged to Cognizant and the other 55 were given a last day of June 30th or August 31st.

@OP it's strange that they terminated you in March and your last date is on 30th June. I got only two weeks. It's good that you got 3 months but do you know the reason of giving 3 months?
