@ef You don’t need EBI. You need government to stop wasting taxpayer’s money and stop the fraud and abuse going on in our own government. When they can steal billions right under your nose and no one notices, we’re already paying too much in taxes. Help those that can’t help themselves. Quit paying for illegals and stop taxing business and individuals to death and watch the magic happen.
Do your homework people. They are using AI as an excuse to offshore to India.
@ef Respectfully, UBI is never going to happen. Here we are talking about Cigna layoffs - a company hollowing itself out with AI and offshoring to pump up its already incredible bottom line… is Cigna passing on this windfall to customers with lower premiums and more coverage? Of course not - so there’s your answer about UBI in this country.

You’re right to be concerned with AI (and offshoring) taking lots of jobs, and I don’t know the solution for that. But free money isn’t the solution. It would only serve to set the poverty line in the 6 figures.
Chinese workers are suing employers for demoting or firing due to AI, and winning! Time for US workers to start pushing back and getting compensation. It's not our fault and we all need enough to live. If there are plenty of resources for everyone and AI can replace our labor, then it's time for UBI. There's no reason for hunger and homelessness. There's plenty to go around and it would barely impact the wealthiest. The wealth inequality in this country is so unnecessary!
