Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Total #?

Folks are floating numbers from 500 to 900... Somebody posted a 20% claim - it was disputed in concert. No consensus or official total...

@b1 that only shows US reduction. Other geo have different rules and those people are still active in the system right now. So it’s a min number try more like 15%

@bb They'll put you on the LHH scam. They do nothing for you.

Executive incompetence (or incontinence) is truly the root cause of all of this. Gross mismanagement of spiking costs for flash ki-led margins, awful roll out of UCPQ, project ocean was a disaster that is still the gift that keeps on giving having to pay a 3rd party to fix it.

@bb no, that is why I mentioned Atlassian. It shows "active" accounts only. You can verify it yourself, look for someone you knew was impacted, and you'll see a "deactivated" label.

Also, the number now shows ~1400. So yeah, at least 8%

@b1 they will be listed as employees for the next 2 months and will have access to some internal site like the expense filing tool, workday. so i am not sure if the count is a good way to see the impact. our dear leader will hopefully share some details.

Those of you who use the new Atlassian Cloud tools may know that the org chart view shows the number of direct reports for a given manager. I've been keeping an eye to the number displayed for GK. It was ~15500 people on Monday. It shows ~14300 today. So yeah, that 8% number lines up with this data.

What I've heard (and I'm not entirely sure if it's true) is that it mainly impacted the US.
