Thread regarding T. Rowe Price Group Inc. layoffs

Any thoughts about the management swap at top?

Is this curtains for RS? Will it change anything

@e2 yeah agreed. Likely a year's public transition. They probably made the decision in past 12m and pulling the trigger publicly now. In 12m time market will digest better.

In the age of AI, talking about fluffy things like 'cooperation' just shows how outdated you are. Collaboration should be done only when necessary—that’s just common sense. The real problem is that there’s a massive herd of id--ts who can’t do anything else. Even if you give them AI, they’re still going to be completely useless.

As long as this remains a company 'of the PM, by the PM, for the PM,' it won't last more than another ten years. It’s not about Next90; it’s about Next10. Once PMs are replaced by AI, this company will lose its entire reason for being. It’s that simple. There’s no point in sugarcoating it

Being a top-performing PM doesn't necessarily make you a great executive. Boards need to stop picking CEOs based on vague notions of 'cooperation' and start selecting them logically and strategically to fit the current era. Let's be honest: PMs are often complete amateurs when it comes to sales, operations, or marketing. With AI dramatically amplifying individual performance gaps, we need to rethink the leadership model from the ground up. Just look at the stock price. Honestly, it’s a joke.

@w5 could have been a McKinsey person instead of RS had the cookie crumbled a little differently back in 2021

Shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic. Maybe RS is being replaced by an Accenture guy? Couldn't be any worse.

At this stage the firm needs an outsider to shake things up. Not more of the same

Maybe a midyear 2027 date? RS took on the President title for about the last year of BS's tenure as CEO.

With this new news, RS out by year’s end? That was quick.
