Midlife Crisis of the Salesforce Professional

Layoffs even in AF, smaller territories, higher targets, no raises, greater levels of micromanagement, offshoring....leading many to question is the hard pivot to AI really worth it it just leave the ecosystem? Or even leave the entire tech industry as misery increases for everyone.

If SFDC can replace humans with AI, then customers can replace SFDC with AI.

I actually left the industry about a year ago. Even though I really miss the work and the people, the whole environment has gotten so soulless lately, and not just because of AI. It’s just a shame because you can already see a major drop in the quality of products and services.
But I’m honestly glad I got out when I did.

Really surprised this forum is so quiet compared to other companies. Lot's of juicy topics floating around...

I can tell you that you are certainly not alone with this sentiment. The writing is on the wall IMO. Currently planning to exit the entire tech industry and hope to be out within a year. It's been a fun ride, but it's going to get much worse I'm afraid.

I am being targeted by Salesforce and I am not the only one. Despite my situation, the pivot to AI is required. Now is the SFDC AI strategy the proper path? I in am in the minority amongst my team. I think D360 is an expensive piece of garbage outside of connecting multiple orgs. Then it’s an expensive piece of required infrastructure for SFDC. What is Agentforce? It’s not AI (imo) it’s the needed piece of infrastructure (expensive) to enable AI in SFDC. Slackbot is a cool tool, but the data behind it, at least for SFDC in this case, is garbage. I’ve been burned responses. SFDC is moving so fast it appears they did not have time for data cleansing. Clients are replacing Tableau with AI, cheaper and faster. Mule, expensive. Marketing cloud, dying. There is a trend. The large clients are receiving massive discounts. The money will be made on the backs of SMB. Not many will read this, but this is my view. If I am wrong, my CRM shares will rise.
