Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Thought Process?

How are the 55yo and under thinking they should stay until the end? You have lost out on merit increases, 401K matching and a future, are you staying just for vacation? Just curious as to how Xerox are retaining this group.
I realize some of the younger ones are just trying to build experience for a resume, and some nepatism is helping a few families. But the others?

@a3
I love treading water and coasting. I am not bothered by any Managers, do not have to think and just do the mininium. Wash, rinse and repeat, it is a great thing.
I love my job and lack of responsibilities.

I am 52 and I just feel I made such a bad career decision. I have friends that went into professions that have pensions and get 5% raises every year guaranteed all on taxpayers money. There jobs are not demanding at all and there are never layoffs. It is depressing.

Can't pass a p test, and can't stop vaping rosin all day, to be honest. Being in a haze all day helps keep my mind off from my job and my customers.

The overall job market and candidate experience has been trashed to the point that it's barely tolerable. And if by a stroke of luck you are hired, in many cases the working conditions will be similar or worse.

So why bother with all that hassle to basically tread water? Sometimes, the known quantity is the path of least resistance.
