It's imperative to enjoy your time off, for your own peace of mind.

Cherish and luxuriate in your free time, no matter what else is going on around you.

Layoffs are going to happen, whether you stress about them or not.
So just work when it's time to work, use some of your free time to prepare for what's up ahead (applying to other companies), and also PAY YOURSELF not just when setting aside $ from your paycheck to go toward savings/investments, but pay yourself also with unfettered free time, where you fully immerse yourself in whatever it is that "fills your cup"...be it leisurely "doing nothing" while sitting with a drink in hand under a shade tree, outdoor activities, spending time with family and friends, etc.

If you don't fill your cup, then you won't be able to function properly.
Stressing and having no free time enjoyment results in "running on empty," which is a very unhealthy way to go through life, and will lead to all sorts of problems (social, emotional, financial, health.)

Give yourself the gift and payment of unplugged, FUN free time for the duration of this upcoming Memorial Day weekend. And make sure to also set aside some time then for quiet reflection/prayer/meditation/appreciation of of all of the people who LOST their LIVES in SERVICE for the citizens of these United States of America, so it can continue being FREE with LIBERTY for all. It is a privilege to be alive in this country, even though the times we are in right now are tough, and headed for even deeper, choppier waters.

Keep looking forward, but not in fear. Have courage, strength, and be of good cheer!
