Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

VTP Coming!

Just remember reading it here on this site: VTP, per contract, will be happening soon. This includes up to two years pay and continued benefits. Sweet news! Glad I'm not management.

Managers are jealous because union workers get better benefits for less money and get more termination pay (up to two years) than the management severance pay (up to sixmonths). Plus, we union members get to keep our benefits longer than laid off managers. We're all going to be eventually and inevitably laid off and when that happens, I'll get over $180k plus any unused of my 5 weeks vacation. I wonder if I get my 5 weeks vacation pay in the second year of my termination pay. Haha...

“ literally never once wished I was union. “

You missed the point, which was just that you’re boring and not funny or clever, and somewhat of a dimwit.

@am Bro, Obamacare is practically free to retirees if you play the tax game right.

@am literally never once wished I was union. Horrible way to live. Boo hoo hoo…

Whelp, see you at the garage, brothers and sisters!

Incredibly, you’re more boring and nonsensical than the “whelp see you on the commute” guy.

Congrats.,

2 year VTP severance is well over 100k along with our MEDICAL post retirement benefit is why management wishes they were union!

@af exactly, lol... Not sure why these union chumps think we walk away with just two weeks and nothing else. Our severance is probably better than theirs is, all things considered. Plus we don’t have to waste money on those expensive union dues.

As part of the management ranks, my 6 months severance was over $100k, plus my 19% bonus and stock that vested I am very happy with my package. I am not sure why some people think management employees are jealous of union workers.

It is not coming. You cannot speak it into existence. You can dream all you want but it’s never going to happen. Now get back to the truck and actually work and stop day dreaming. I know those union dues are expensive but youre not getting them back. Sorry! Boo hoo hoo… get over it or quit.

I was glad I was management. I made enough money to comfortably retire a while ago. Keep waiting!

OP, Management doesn’t want to believe you! Management says you are wrong! Management doesn’t understand how a contract works! Management is jealous that they only get 2 weeks notice until off payroll and an embarrassing severance! Management says that the company should get rid of union workers because they can’t be union workers! These are great times to be a union worker and horrible times to be a manager! Management on this board are miserable bootlickers and the corporate leadership is currently in process of eliminating them! Culling the herd they call it, and they will boot lick themselves all the way out the door! Enjoy being a union worker cause management can’t! Have a great union worker weekend!

I know you would like to try and recoup some small portion of those expensive union dues you’ve wasted so much money on all these years, but you will not. The company will never pay you two years severance. You will be fired for cause or worked to death instead…. And even if you did somehow get it, you’re still not coming out on top because of those expensive union dues.
