I'm still in disbelief about my rescinded offer. I had a signed offer letter, a start date, and a moving truck booked. Then they called and said the role had been eliminated. I keep staring at my email waiting for them to say it was a mistake.

It is easier to get a job offer from Q compared to other big tech firms. Take offers from Q and learn skill sets as much as possible in a short cycle. Then you can move to other big firms for the bigger compensation. Actually many guys are doing so at Q.
@1gy Stupid comment. OP got an offer, it's the company moral duty to honor it! Sh---y companies doing this to people should be flagged, like what OP did. OP, sorry for what happened, next time don't resign or relocate untill you start at your new company. This is getting frequent, Amazon, Meta doing it massively!
Probably because they found someone better than you, you should be smart enough to have a back up offer , guessing by your post , you don't have one and probably got lucky with QCOM offer
We don't need talentless hacks , please look elsewhere
You should still get your hiring bonus
Way too many j&&ts. They have ruined the engineering profession in the U.S.
So many articles online about AI taking jobs. They don't realize it could be worse. They could be working at Q.
They probably found your replacement from India already.
Which team or which group is this ?
Qualcomm chips are trash just like its talent from banglapoor office
Jesus is my lord and I shall seek refuge in him , he is my daddy and mommy
Is this a sign of upcoming layoffs? Usually companies start with a hiring freeze and rescinding offers before moving to layoffs.
Sorry bro , indians are here to win , cry more WOMP WOMP , us whites we are civilized , just look at iraq iran cuba venezuela, we are civilized burger chugging giga chads
@k4 I left before 2023, so I wouldn't know how it is now. I worked in a satellite office, though, so I don't have a view of the company culture. By the time I left, all we got was crumbs from SD. All I can say is that I would not work in a satellite office unless if they had an established product.
H1Bcomm
qualcomm culture is like masturbation. feeling achieving something that is not real, not able to scale in real life.
@ek ex-Qualcomm here. Got impacted in 2023. Now I do see some openings in the same scope of work. Before I hit the apply button, I wanna know if the work culture after 2023 impact has worsened or hasn't changed much? I have no hard feelings regarding the impact. It had no correlation to my work and in professional life there are no permanent enemies. I have been in Q long enough to know the pay is good but work culture can be draining sometimes. Your inputs may help me more than you think. So would you?
Qcom's an interesting company. I've worked on the best projects in my career there. I'm met the best people, both technically and personally, there. But it's also the worst company I've worked at.
Your ethnicity must not be Indian.
Qualcomm is not the company it used to be, at one time there was stability and a lot of good work going on. They would throw a bunch of new projects on the board to see what sticks, then move people around based on that. Now all they care about is shareholders making max profit and if that means cr-p all over the workers then so be it. Also, if you are not in an inner circle with contacts and have seniority, update your resume and god forbid you go through some life altering situation because they will use that to get rid of you.
sorry for your situation. Take it as a joke but in case you have other offers, consider this event as the universe telling you something for YOUR real good!
@a9 I'll look into this, thanks.
If they cancelled offer before you join but after you accepted ; then it is your golden chance to win big compensation for illegal contract withdrawal if you file case against them.
