Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

Lesson learned

I used to think HR was there to help employees and actually went to them with a complaint. Big mistake. Their only goal is to protect the company from us. They don't care about what happened, just how they can sweep it under the rug. Don't make the same mistake I did of trusting them.

@hx don’t know what you’re on about. LAR was flat as the Sahara and the personification of a Bernadette…

@hx Apparently, he was involved with a woman in Houston office's HR dept. Maybe he has/had a thing about HR managers. LOL. He has now employed a BP guy to be his Chief Of Staff at his new outfit.

@hm Who said KD slept with BL??? She is not his type — she has enough hair for 3 women and no curves.

@e5 KD is a useless way over-promoted Looney Tunes sycophant — Meg probably saw through her in their first meeting. Keep a priority axe with her name on it. Afterwards, eliminate the entire HR LT and 50% of remaining HR organization. Result = big cost savings, less bureaucracy (give decision rights back to the line organizations) and greatly improved corporate culture.

@dp how about you simplify your corporate speak… and predict how many parasites will be forcibly extracted. In the USA at least 660 need to be removed as they are value destroying and their behavior prevents their staff from excelling. In the UK …probably remove 33% across the board.

@OP I moved from ops to HR. All the rules imposed by HR that the money-making teams had to abide by - the HR teams were ignoring with alacrity. I said to HR boss: HR is around because of the money-making teams. He said it was the opposite; without HR there would be no offshore ops. Eye opening for sure! Glad I was able to escape back to ops.

KD is the queen of HR and Culture…the buck stops with her…time to drop antiquated nonsense. HR is both a press secretary and an enforcer of corporate culture. They use creative and sometimes controversial ways to influence and manipulate the corporate landscape. When you view HR as its real role things fit into place…why is KD still employed? Because she has dirt and leverage hence protection….not, because she is effective. Meg stated that she will run BP with pragmatism and profitability …yet she keeps dinosaurs 🦕 from previous administrations? Now the shyte gets real… wokeness equals production declines…

HR are not your friends. But they spend 90% of their existence pretending to be.
