If you give a 30 day notice, will you be walked you out that day? If so, will they pay out the 30 days?

You need to check what applies in your state. In some states the employer can accept you resignation early and are not obligated to pay you through the 30 days.
To play it safe, give zero days' notice. Just give notice Friday morning and walk out of there.
If you feel you have a rock solid offer. Especially with a competitor. Give as much notice as you can.
Pro tip: Say that you are going to a competitor, even if not, and you get walked out the same day with full pay!!
They’ll walk you out that day
@zc 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
If you are true Schwabie you will give a 180 day notice
No one should give 30 day notice. Two weeks is conventional. Zero provides control and is increasingly standard.
Concern would be competitor will do background and once fingerprints sent to FINRA, Schwab will be notified. At that point they can terminate and mark U5 as “fired” and not allow one to resign.
Ghost Them
Depending on your role and where you are going, they’ll give you 2 weeks, but would have to walk you out that day. Competitors for sure. Just say that even if making a career change. Don’t expect anything more than the 2 weeks, so if you want to work 30 more days wait 2 more weeks.
