I was like you, always on time, ready to take on extra duties, train and mentor all the new hires. Thinking this would keep me a valuable employee never to be laid off.
Being so valuable I was expected to drive to work in blizzards and other weather issues.
Working from home was not an option for my team

Well when new senior mgmt took over and brought in the money hungry bean counters.
I was let go after 20 years.

@OP yeah essentially I was told my role is eliminated and they’ll try to help me find something new. It’s absolute bullsh-t because they kept people who do absolutely nothing but because I keep my mouth shut and do everything for my fu--ing team I got laid off

Yes- just told today that my role was eliminated and I will be placed in internal talent pool
