Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Jobs diversion to Verizon India

Have you recently check Verizon careers posted externally? All locations seems to be on India even Engineering Ops. Is this an operational strategy to cut cost where eyes are in India and fewer hands in US? I see a murky future for Verizon. Parts of it will be sold.

If the economy in this country is no good anymore for the working stiff, emigrate to India. Unlike ours, their day-to-day economy seems to be improving.

Call centers in SE Asia were in the works back in 2017-18. It took a few years to put offices together, find staff, and send trainers overseas to explore the work. They came fully online in late 2023/early 2024, just before VSP packages were offered. Implementation of AI and Dan the Human Machete being brought on as CEO successfully cost the company almost 15,000 employees last year. Hundreds more this week, with impacts felt overseas as well. The future of Verizon, at least for US-based employees, does seem very unclear.
