Shell cut a large portion of its IT workforce in Bangalore for a reason. Yet RB and LC apparently thought it made sense to bring in the leader who built Shell’s India data and analytics group, even though that role was eliminated during Shell’s own layoffs. Now we are watching that same leadership rebuild the team by hiring former Shell India employees into Chevron.

LC isn't long term horse here. He has got a package and he has got a task to do. Good/Bad he doesn't give a F !!
@cw was being laid off by Shell the follow up award?
@OP
I was recently told to create documentation for various items that essentially adds up to “all the things I have learned for the last 30+ years”
I was expected to teach myself by studying at university, years of hard work, and paying for my own training because Chevron would not pay for my training while others were sent to official training courses that cost thousands of dollars for Chevron but they never utilized the information they were trained on. In addition, no recognition for the information I am expected to assemble. A recent job posting in our department stated the job requirements are, “ must be self sufficient and independent in developing yourself for the position”, but never mentions your need to train others because that is a higher pay grade.
What a crock of c@c@?
obviously i am shell yes

AK is good for nothing but hiring her indian friends
i am glad we gave her the boot
@bh not just a ROM eventually all of IT except LT will be in India. Get out if you’re young.
I am really worried being in IT and moved to the Hess building, farther away from the business… and also farther away from other IT and digital teams who got to stay in 1400-1500.
I have no doubt that another ROM is coming, and I am not naive enough to know that the people in charge will have their proximity biases.
All I am being asked to do now is to shut stuff down, say no to my customers, say no to everyone. That is not a great recipe for landing a job in the next round.
Don’t worry our leaders are so good that they’ll make it work even though Shell and Exxon couldn’t.
