It is happening. Massive number of retirements and mid career employees leaving. Super wild to see.

@e9 EM and the industry have been talking about this wave for years, I remember sitting in meetings 15+ years ago and they would flash up the inverted bell curve of employee headcount by age, with a trough around those hired in the early 90s. They know, and at one point they tried to use experienced hires to plug the shortfall, but with the assessment/NSI policies and toxic culture there’s still going to be a wave of retirements and experienced people quitting.
Someone retired last week in my department. It looks like it’s going to be a mad rush out the door. I see signs that it is coming like a gaint wave crashing on the beach, shallowing up all the shops that sell things. I bet Exxon did not think about that.
Just some reality. You folks that are in your 30s. One day you will be in your 50s.
