Just another example of decision making authority being taken away from direct mangers, and placing that authority with someone who likely has no knowledge of the business, or the impacted employee.
Started with performance ratings, then bled over into merit and bonus allocation (In CAO/SCM, 2025 raises and bonuses were determined by the two-up director with zero input from the direct managers), and now it’s happening with these stupid exceptions
What value is adding another approver to this process add??!?
Answer: NONE! Just more inefficiency to an already clown show of a company.
That could be whomever your LOB appointed. Most likely a CAO type role.
