Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

Career growth here? Pretty much flatlined unless you're riding the manager's coattails. Recognition and opportunities are on permanent rotation for the same small crew, while everyone else gets benched — doesn't matter how good your work is.
There's no real direction coming from the top. Whatever so-called "vision" exists gets whispered only to the favorites so they can swoop in and look like stars, while everyone else's ideas get buried or quietly recycled and pitched upward as somebody else's win.
A ton of solid people who actually had momentum here have mentally clocked out — because this place rewards kissing up, not leveling up. It's become a culture where the yes-men and informants thrive, and the folks putting in real work feel stuck, overlooked, and straight-up burnt out.
I'm hearing it's same in T**S as well so no difference

@ds when the pressure to adapt to the constant strategy changes is raining down on the front line staff, it's hard to care. It's excruciating on the one hand to listen to it, but the desire to perform has been completely drained out by the constant psychological bombardment. The trauma bond is real.

No idea when the next RIF is unfortunately.
Alot of people will be rolling off 6/30 per the original layoffs in March though. Who knows if that has any impact on timing though.

FIS is migrating everyone to the same systems as much as possible to simplify everything, then it will probably continue to offshore everything they can. There is no innovation and there hasn’t been any for years. Changes are rolled out and if they don’t work ignore it and continue along. Clients and employees have become nothing more than empty platitudes.

I honestly believe that during the big RIF in March, people were selected randomly. In my group, there was no pattern across function, tenure, performance, billable hours etc.

@ds thank you for this. A question if you can answer it.If manager is not deciding whom to RIF’d then who's deciding it and what's the criteria? Is it just because of high salary? Or something else?

Being a manager at FIS

Deciding who to RIF when youre forced to
Overstretched HR support because they have been RIFd
When you can actually hire, you have to hire fast before they cut the position instead of hiring well
Wasting a lot of time on internal reporting
Dealing with the chaos unleashed from the top when they pivot to new strategies every month

4 yrs ago I had a great job and an even better manager. I was in line for his position once he retired and I loved my team and work life. Then he was RIF’d and I assumed all of his work and responsibilities without the title or pay. I guess be careful what you wish for lol. I’m no longer looking at FIS as a career but rather a paycheck until I’m RIF’d or find something else. So sad what’s become of it all.

If you just used the last six months, why would anyone think that there would be career growth there. It's all about which groups will be used as tribute next. Don't wait, GTFO.

That's the way it's been for a while now. Don't feel bad about getting a better job elsewhere. It's expected.

Seems to be the same everywhere. You're not longer working your way up the ladder bc they just replace higher ups from outside.

@OP that is an accurate statement, no more career growth at FIS. Just layoffs for the time being. The future looks grim
