Thread regarding PNC layoffs

Been quiet

I wish I knew who I could rant to but I'm way too careful about sharing my work-place political views. RTO has totally uprooted my life from cost of childcare, time wasted on commute, routine, and even my work itself. Talk about being more efficient, eh? Literally cannot get the same amount of work done if im being pulled in 12 different directions each day just to make sure im doing my work from one spot and not another i.e my home. What a super cool and awesome thing this all is. The only thing that motivates me more than getting yelled at for "non-compliance" is SPITE. You want me to quit? No thanks. However, with my flexibility now gone, there goes yours as well. Taking calls after hours? No. 110% effort? Try 50. It's been said before but dear lord what are they thinking? THOUSANDS of employees with FOUR MONTHS time to get read for the dreaded RTO yet ZERO MF GUIDELINES?

The guidelines are vague by design, because they want us to assume what the rules are. I dont want to tell others what to do but please dont make this easy on them. Most of our positions were originally based around a hybrid schedule from the get-go.

I 100% disagree with RTO 5 days a week, but comments such as "RTO has totally uprooted my life from cost of childcare" adds to the corporate view that some people who WTH were not focus on their work but taking care of their children, running errands, etc. I worked for home until May 4th but my children we in day care so I could focus on my work. I know this is not a popular view but so let the down votes begin.

@ed perhaps check in with the fire marshall. Maybe occupancy limits are being violated if people are sitting on the floors.

@ed They are hiring offshore employes from other countries and replacing their US employees. They just cut a bunch of employees after bringing in offshore to do their work

All I’m going to say is as far as two PNC, the RTO is a complete disaster. There’s not enough room for all the employees. There are some employees that are sitting on floors that have nothing to do with other groups.

I pray to God that we never have an emergency in the building where we have to evacuate because it’s going to be a mess. Does anyone know once we have all the contractors come in if we will be over capacity and what does that mean to city ordinance codes? Is there an actual ordinance we’re only allowed so many people in the building at any given time? I don’t know how any of that works. I just think we need to consider safety with all of these people in the building at one time. Even before Covid, I never saw this many people in the building at one time.

Think we can only hope it reverses some. Very least, hybrid. But i assume the metrics from last week was bad, but guess well never know. I doubt anything improved

RTO is going badly, and the worst part is how quiet the negativity is.
