Whenever a company starts talking about LEAN and doing more with less, expect incoming layoffs. I saw these layoffs coming a mile away.
They combined them alright. They laid off both app and SNKRS teams. Going to be rough the next time something goes down.
So instead of confirming that 90% of the SNKRS team got laid off, they put out this fluffed empty response saying that the remaining employees are now focusing on not just SNKRS but also Nike app, dotcom and NBY. It sounds like social media is correct - No new features or improvements just maintenance mode so Nike can continue to squeeze for profits. Culture and community are dead. So why are we confused when we are no longer relevant?
