Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

Stock going $25

FIS stock is trading at P/E of 60
Peer competitor FIServ stock is trading at P/E of 8.
In short, Institutions are holding the price, selling to retail. FIS employees buying ESPP will ultimately become bag holders.

Based on whatever is going on with Cognizant and outsourcing, FIS will split into three companies
Banking and Payments (FIS and Metavante) around $10/share
Capital Markets (SunGard) around $10/share
Managed Service Provider (Jim Johnson will be CEO) around $5/share.

If you own FIS stock, sell soon and bail out quickly

P/E of 60+? Check your facts. You have no credibility.

I heard Seamus Smith was getting a CEO-ship. Must be one of these

The PE ratio of > 60 is also driven by the Worldpay disaster and a one-time cost of the company's restructuring. That said, a more realistic stock price is indeed in the low 30s to high 20s, given the lack of strategy and poor execution over the last six quarters.

@bm its more likely they would do a split and if that happens you lose all your money.

The stock dropping as much as it has is a stark indicator that the company is going under.

They announced the Anthropic news and it just kept going down.

@bm absolutely, this is a strategy if you can handle the risk over time. In almost any other company, there would a certain confidence in the time factor due to corporate/leadership stability. This ain't that.

@OP there is an argument to keep purchasing at the low price with the hope/expectation that it does eventually go up.

For those who invested in the FIS ESPP for years, consult your financial professional and tax person to create a strategy to extricate yourselves. Anyone still investing in the ESPP should seriously consider stopping further investment. There are lots of other great choices for investment.
