@1hq sorry, missed survivors.
Nope, not prior that, not when receiving the business update email, not after the call. Most of us are working home office, and i just cant grasp that nobody gives a damn. I mean, what if someone would put a bullet in the head after being laid off, nobody would know, nobody cares. Feels like we are contagious.
@gb you were either at the top of your salary band or you had a lot of RSUs. The layoff in April was about cutting budget (m5 here)
@gb its probably because you were too expensive
@aq This is BS. I was l consistently rated 5 for last 3 years and still got RIFd.
@ea M3 here , my M4 asked me for a name and it was not cost related at all , I selected the lowest performer in my team .
I dont know why people disliked my post - I'm an M4. this is literally what happened:
Most of the people that were laid off last August were poor performers or were cut by managers discretion (it was a headcount play)
This set of cuts were by dollar - so a lot of senior people and higher paid individuals were cut
@OP When stirring up the shitpot, expect to have to lick the spoon...

"Due to performance"? IIRC last year's layoffs came after a great quarter.
OP, what are you expecting to hear? Does the reason really matter? The results are the same. Move on.
