Anyone wonder if they are willing to provide gas assistance for flex staff, and or reduce work in the office to two days a week during this economy to help cost of living at this time?

@wp I fully expect another pto and carryover change.
@118 who got a raise because gas prices were high?
Are you high?
Maybe try an economics or business 101 class.
@fp Why is it an absurd question? If expensive gas justifies a raise, why wouldn’t cheap gas justify a pay cut?
@de - "They don’t care. My entire team, aside from managers and director, is classified as telecommute, and our director requires us to drive in whenever she wants, usually for a one hour team meeting that could easily be done on teams, especially since we are all located in different offices so the majority of us aren’t even in the same room during the “in-person” meetings."
Well that's not bad having to come to the office how often? Once per month? Many companies still do 3-5 days a week. Fidelity just moved back to in-office 5 days a week policy they will be starting I think later this year.
Other companies are also cutting back on benefits - one company just stopped 401k matching contributions for the rest of the year. Deloitte and Zoom also just cut back on some benefits related to PTO, Maternity, Pensions, etc. Interesting times!
I doubt they will provide gas assistance $ but asking to trim in-office days to 2 /wk is reasonable during these times of abnormal super inflated gas prices --- did you mention it in the Blue Pulse survey?
@b8 1. Managers cannot modify. 2. Leadership does not give a flying flip about anyone but themselves. And Maurice has a driver.
@dm what an absurd question. Back in 2010 they actually helped with gas costs.
There is no need to be in an office to sit in conference calls all dang day.
@b8 - Us managers cannot reduce the number of days in the office. We wish we could but that is Senior Leadership and HR. They also have reports of number badge swipes with those violating their inane orders...including managers and directors.
Would you accept a pay cut if gas was cheap?
They don’t care. It won’t happen. Having the job and living far away from it is a choice. The company doesn’t owe us anything outside of fair pay for the work we do.
This would have been a good suggestion for Blue Pulse.
You could ask your manager if you can adjust your days in the office.
Doubtful
They are more likely to increase it to 5 days because that's how much contempt they have
