Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Wealth platform

Squad lead here

Long time fidelity. Got 12 months severance, holidays paid out to cash and prorated bonus.

Was asked to keep it to myself but fu-k that sh-t, I hate how they broke the news so I don't care.

Multiple scrum master in my previous role got impacted as well.

Impacted BU based on what I heard:
Wealth platform, advisory, Asset management, Brokerage Record keeping

@a4 Hey a--hole, OP here
in what world do you consider being laid off lucky?????

I am 49, with no source of income, two teenagers and mortgage.

plus probably unhirable in today’s climate.

so take your inconsiderate comment and shove it in your a-s

@a4 if you have 20 plus years a year severance is the norm

Ignore the comment berating you. Yes that’s true that you got a lot of money, but there’s a lot of stress, too. This place holds a lot of your life and memories, and for it to end like this is cold.

I’m sorry this happened to you. Feel everything you’re feeling. This is gonna be a grieving process.

You WILL land on your feet some day. But for now, process this.

12 months? This seems sus. Only seen 6 months max. If you really got 12 months you’re damn lucky! Imagine getting a paid year off?! Sure you have to find a new job but won’t be stressed for a whole year while doing so!

@OP Do you mind sharing how many years you have been with Fidelity? Are they offering 1 month of severance per year of tenure?
