Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

I'm out of stress

These past few years have been a wild ride, and this place has gone so far downhill that I can't even work up anxiety about being laid off anymore. Sure, I'm vaguely worried as the job market is brutal, and the economy is shaky, but I don't have the energy or the attachment to this job to really panic.

I hope it’s me. I asked to be laid off back in 2008. No, they laid off a new kid out of college rather than me. Back then Fidelity was run by Ned and felt loved by the firm. That shipped sailed when Abby took the helm.

@OP Agreed, it is bad when you're fatigued to the point where you almost welcome a lay off. Of course, no one wants to lose their job but when the income is not enough compensation for the stress levels and feeling like being treated like a machine vs a human then it becomes a sign the role, company or both need to go.

I understand fully. I do not believe my group or level are impacted but I’m with you. It’s not a bad thing.

I’m with you! Might be nice to be forced to look for something else. Sometimes something like this is a true blessing in disguise. Good luck!
