Received an invite along with 4 other people to attend a meeting set up by HR in regards to VOE. Could this be a lay off?

I am happy for you. 17th boss in 33 years. That is crazy. Were you changing or were the boss changing?
@jt which department location C level are you?
@f7 - I was one of the "lucky" few that "catch-up" actually means, catch up! It was just a call to let me know that my role was changing to another part of the business where my skills are more applicable. Of course there was no pay increase involved, just a subtle way of saying "just be thankful you still have a job". I now have my 17th boss in 33 years.
@bn All ok?
I was on sabbatical and saw my boss get laid off while I had 3 weeks left. On my first day back had a meeting titled welcome back that was some rando telling me I got caught up in the layoffs.
@b7 - Will say if it happens tomorrow. Saying where and dept now would be unwise
@as location? Department?
I just got a "catch up" call appointment for tomorrow at 10 AM with my boss (D) and his boss (MD). Its been nice knowing you!
You’ll receive a meeting invite titled “catch up” to take place within 30 or so minutes of the appointed time. Usually held by the direct manager who will follow (or in my case, stumble through because he’s inept at literally everything) an HR-dictated script.
My (clueless) direct manager called me on the last day of my vacation to set up a time later that day to have an urgent zoom meeting with my MD.
Less than 10 minutes zoom.
No. Layoffs are always 1:1 with your manger. It’s usually a 15 minute catch up.
