@ct this would be true if EM was not here. But with EM, I guess focus should be removing fat. Other profitability is difficult.
I’m expecting a lot of reorganization. Hopefully Medtronic will cut more management, there are way too many directors and vps still who have no clear responsibility and just sit in on meetings. Sites have random directors sticking their heads in things which just creates more busywork for everyone. Every decision is revisited over and over when another one of these useless execs sticks their nose in.
Unfortunately I have no faith that management will cull the right herd. They will probably get rid of more worker bees and pile even more in the 10% of people who actually keep this place running.
Bunch of quality layoffs happened on Thurs/Friday. Seemed like 100's not 1000's.
Some very experienced, talented people.

There’s been no VRIF or VERP offers. You’re not going to get a 10% haircut by not minimizing the impact before hand.
We’re not in a hiring freeze and there are minimal cost controls in place.
Cutting tens of thousands of headcount is just bitter people stoking fear/resentment/anger
