Thread regarding PNC layoffs

Anyone skipping tomorrow?

Can’t believe it’s here. Is anyone planning to skip this id--tic “mandate”?
I have been remote 13 years in this company. Now I have to go sit in a random office by myself and do the exact same thing I would do at home. Thinking of skipping and letting the cards fall as they may.

@OP just be careful bc I’m sure they’re going to say it’s “ job abandonment” since all roles are now deemed “essential in office”. Even though all your work is probably still getting done.

Just a supportive suggestion: get that response to “So, where were you?” polished up. Managers haven’t been given any guidance on “work it out” but I’m sure they’re gonna be given guidance on what to do with people not complying!

Tomorrow is the day that I start to not be available after work hours. Any urgent matters can wait until the next morning when my shift start starts. With the over an hour commute each way I simply do not have enough time to take care of my family and my job in the evening. Something has got to give, and this is what my decision will have to be. I don’t like having to make this decision, but my family will always come first.

I don't recommend just doing what everyone else is saying they're doing but I will not be going in. They barely had the ba--s to give us any guidelines at all, so Ill wait until I get a warning so perhaps I'll have an idea of what expected.

Def understand the frustration. Majority arent happy. How the market is tho, i just cant risk it. I can only hope rto days peel off. Maybe if theres prod issues, or people cant be found when needed. Idk
