@tf Hah 3 rest days your funny if you ever think that the railroad would give any union worker 3 days off is delusional . The can barely function with everyone working 5 8’s
Ask a railroader the last time he just worked 8 hrs a day with less than 15 to 20 yrs on the railroad . Forced to work multiple 12 to 16 hour shifts due to heavy cuts in Manpower.

@1ez no one is voting on a contract to change the OT rules.

Come to a big boy yard instead of some insignificant backwater. Big boy yards run 24 hours

Definitely happen if merger goes through. Then layoffs and shop closings. From a really good source.

Contracts can be negotiated. Most shops have little or no 3rd shift. Change is coming Cupcake.

Contract says anything over 8 is OT.

Company wouldn't be happy with 4 hours of no one being there to work trains either.

Still two rest days? That would be more work days per year.

If they allow work from home that will speed up inspections!

I can do 4 10’s, but I have to work from home. Can railroaders do this ?

All mechanical can be done on 10hr shifts. Any job, service, or " got to go Railroader" can wait till next shift or tomorrow. 24hr shops and hurry up running repair days are over. Lighten up Frances.

No one has ever made a valid argument why you should be at work less days a year. All of the things you are worried about could be negotiated. Just saying.

There are few locations that 4-10s would work, production work that doesn't run24 hrs is one.
Running repair and 24 hr shops will not change. Remember everyone will not get the weekend off, going to 2 shifts will cut 1/3 of the employees.
Just saying
