I keep hearing the spotify model is dead. Nobody talks about what we are moving to, just what we are running away from. Please tell me not back to waterfall.

It will just go back to big room planning way less formal same idea without the weird words. until the next new thing comes and is used as another excuse to re-org to avoid layoffs
@ad nope, been here 5 years. engineers people leader. I know in November we were told exactly what I asked - it is going away. They have not shared what it is being replaced with though. larger teams is not the definition of a replacement. changed job titles is not the definition of a replacement. a description of the agile process or whatever process would be valid but I have never been exposed to that.
@dh “tweaks” aka reduction in force.
we've already been told by leadership we won't be pure agile but also won't be pure waterfall
"tweaks" they call it
.....unless that was a lie
@a7 yea, producing a 25 page spec that no one bothers to read is not efficient. I used to create those documents and the developers would barely crack them open. Waterfall comes with too much risk on large projects, waiting for a big bang software deliverable only to find out that what was built is not what was wanted is a waste of time and $
This is vidal information to know!
New operating model will drop soon. For devs this means the people you work with aren’t necessarily under your dev manager. Becoming project based
What comes after Spotify is Apple Music
Did you just join lately? It was announced 6 months ago that Fid was moving away from the Spotify model
Anything I have seen looks like agile still, just larger teams and fewer leaders.
At least people knew what was being built with waterfall. Now no one has a fu--ing clue, no documentation, bunch of bozos putting sh-t in a cr-p jira tool. Stupid.
