Thread regarding Ford layoffs

There are available jobs in our industry

I know a lot of people are staying at Ford because they don't think they'll be able to find anything better. I was practically forced out six months ago, and I can tell you I got a new job within two months and so far it has been better than I dared hope. I was worried about the job market, but it was not as bad as I feared. There ended up being several available jobs in our industry that were a good fit for me, so it all worked out! If nothing else, start looking. You might be surprised by what you find.

@5kmx+1kqlg0yG just give it a few weeks. Many companies reset budgets on year end.

This was true in October. Not so much now. The jobs are drying up. The people at Ford about to get SIRP'd in 2023 are screwed. You waited too long. Now you'll get SIRP'd and the countdown will begin on your severance running out.

I might want data stores, subscription services, and software technology in my vehicle. But if my vehicle doesn't work right or has constant recalls, I really don't care how many modern features it has.

Ah @2cva+1kqlg0yG typical Ford hubris.

Sure the customers will just go along with the scheme and not take their hard earned money to another manufacture. Sure the customers will tolerate abysmal quality.

Same hubris that lead Ford to have only one dog in the hunt - after competitors listened to what customers wanted and took and dominated one market share after another.

85% of customers view vehicles as transportation period. They don’t care about all the transformational garbage Ford is attempting to sell. Then want a safe, reliable, quality vehicle. Ford is missing the mark.

You can joke about it all you like, but it won't change the strategy of our company transformation. We are becoming a digital technology company first, and that includes data stores, subscription services, and software technology. First.

If you do not like it, then go to another company that pursues what you want it to, or, how about position yourself into the company leadership and show the executives why the Ford+ plan is incorrect?

No one will, because when you digest the plan and listen to the details that are shared in the numerous townhalls and other company forums, it becomes apparent where the automotive sector is going and how our future revenue is coming from it.
