Mid Year Reviews?

Are these happening? Saw a post recently that said they were not. It’s May 1 and my manager has not said anything about my team’s mid year review either. Nothing to document in workday either. No one on my team knows what’s going on.

@1nk I would assume they are still going to happen unless we explicitly hear otherwise

@19f I heard something similar last week and I am in COO. Though nothing was said about inconsistently meets rating, though that could be that decisions were still being made.

@190 I think they said it was an enterprise-wide thing but we're in WIM.

@15p for all LOBs or just yours?

my manager just confirmed there will be no more mid-year reviews unless the manager wants to give an employee an IM mid-year rating.

Gotta love logging in after being laid off to see an IM in workday you weren't even told about.

To add further insult to injury, they justified it saying it was due to something that had occurred in a previous year. Totally unrelated to what would be most recent mid year performance...beware.

@q2 good question. I was assuming the IMs must be consecutive before HR / senior leaders will start pestering the manager to fire the employee but who knows.

Say my past reviews are:
first: meets (just joined firm 2 months before reviews)
second: inconsistently meets (I was shocked; no justification in PR either but whatever)
third: meets (assumed based on manager conversations)

What if I got another IM at year end? Are there grounds to fight that given the lack of consistency?

Looked at when we completed them last year and workday sent mid-year reviews mid to late May. Guess we’ll see what happens this year.

I also heard from a people manager that mid-year reviews are going away across the bank. The decision has not been fully communicated but it appears to be in the works. Hope it’s true.

I think it will be a binary - meet or not meet. Quarterly check ins by managers will be happening. They realize ratings were very loose the past few years.

I believe last year they started talking about mid year review in the begging of June and reviews with managers were done by the mid July. So there is still time for them to turn around.

I was curious about this so I looked in Workday but I couldn’t find any dates for my last few mid years, but I certainly remember them being in late May, and I haven’t heard a peep about them.

With the new abusive and reckless Rank and Yank system that had been put into place and accelerating over the past year they are obviously reducing the possibility of complication when they need an excuse to fire you year end for two reasons: 1) if they give you an IM in mid year you could potentially open a case with HR and hence delay their firing process, 2) if they give you a Meets then you could again argue that "I have a Meets so Why all of a sudden give me an IM which is definitely NOT a consistent practice and they have to answer to that as well ... hence they are mitigating this risk and they will only give you NO chance of rebutting year end! and this is easier for everyone now that there is a lot more work but with fewer workers to do anything ...

I hope not. Never had a review that was worth anything. Waste of time.

A firm that cannot manage its business effectively or hire quality advisors or staff is not one I trust with reviews. Charlie Scharf is a joke.

You and thousands of others are going to be rated Meets at mid year in June-July, Inconsistently Meets at year end, and then laid off in February 2027

they probably dont want to give an avenue for factual reporting of accomplishments in this climate of fear and lay everyone off. one has to wonder about objective metrics in quantity and quality coming ai use of hr. what they use, what they pretend to never see, what the ultimate motive of the employer is, games like that....

Do the monthly check-in. You should have submitted one for April 01- April30
