@c6 you would be wrong in that assumption. You are not the life force behind whatever product your building, it takes less than a work day to fill replace the cog that you represent. In this instance, it will likely be driven by them reevaluating things through the lens of what benefits the org instead of what will be the thing that benefits everyone at the individual level.
Any word about UXD (AKA design on tech teams)?
Are devs in wealth affected? Especially those who are working on a product that receives praise almost everyday (sorry this is not humble) but my assumption is that if you are working on a product that makes associate interactions efficient and brings in more money, why would they let you go… there’s a lot of fear mongering
Everyone is at risk, each and everyday. You should plan each day with the thought this is my last day. Work as if you are not being let go, but accept it if it does happen.

Your “Chapter” is getting a new manager and is moving to a new L2 (I.e. you are moving from a Product Aligned group to Technology). If you are a Dev and performance is good (not on a PIP) then you should be fine as long as your skills are aligned to the products and technology that are being invested in.
