Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Anyone here with layoff info?

If you do not believe that layoffs are coming, then just scroll past.. do not have to respond it saying fake news..

I want to hear from someone here if anyone has first hand info on layoffs.. which orgs are being targeted and is it targeting individual contributors or managers or evenly distributed

Finance has already built the reductions in. As someone said below. Targets where given, up to leaders how to achieve them. but some have already been cut so bad, RIFs are the only way left to get down to the number they need.

so total head count would 102k with frontier so 15% of only management ( VZ 60k plus frontier 5k) means another 10k employees layoff by June ?

RIF on Thursday, 5/7- 10% company wide. Many teams have already been told to WFH.

This one is not flat across all orgs. EVPs were given budget targets by Tony and rolled those down to their reports. A 15% RIF is the obvious way to hit those, some orgs appear to have decided differently and are focusing on contractor spending instead (for example some IT orgs under Vivec).
Notification 5/7, exit 6/4 unless in CA or NJ.
Standard packages just like November.
All these details are confirmed with Band 4 leader and HR.

Travel costs are cut, but Sales Operations wastes money by flying people in from the UK and elsewhere for the Ops Talent program in Basking Ridge. Tone deaf and terrible

@az you have no idea what you are talking about just like just about everyone else on here. EXPENSE = opex.

@ab FTE is considered as OPEX, contractors as Expense. So they can cut FTE and try to pivot them to expense structure. And it would be easier to cut contractors out once switched in my opinion.

Heard May 7 would the d-day. BR L5 SD were called to a meeting today and folks suspect that's for it. Rebadging for FTE to contractor transition may come either.

Not sure what orgs but travel has been paused through June for parts of the business and the initial pause was only April and then May... so to do a straight pause through June and it was mid April was very telling.
