You won’t get severance if they fire you for not complying with RTO policy.

@bf it's the younger employees that are clutching pearls over this-for the most part. But offering student loan forgiveness , bonuses on top of bonuses, profit sharing and generous 401k isn't enough I guess. Maybe they'll have pajama day once a week - this board will really explode if the free coffee and tea / snacks are eliminated. Oh the horror!!!!!!

@dp Stay liquid. Keep your backup files off-network. The grid is going dark.

@bq - ya! I am not going to let them off easy. They have to lay me off and pay severance. Bring it!

Honestly, my goal at this point is to just su-k out as much money from the company as possible, while doing the least amount of work. But I'll continue to give the client's as good of an experience as I can. They won't get me to quit by making office full time... I'll make them lay me off, which hopefully it doesn't come to that lol.

@bj that’s awful and I feel for you. Lots of fidelity couples on different weeks that will be affected too, and pet parents. Not good.

@bk please don’t be loud in the office :(

@be people constantly coughing and people screaming on the phones really does it for me. Or just people loudly hamming it up with their besties while they don’t work.

Quiet quitting while you job hunt. Other firms are hybrid start applying. Give them what they want. when the top talent is gone f’em. These c..ts don’t give a ish about us. Also remember be loud and proud in the office. Talk loud be loud let them know we’re there. 50

@aa - Great that a woman who never took care of her kids herself makes a decision to make it harder for working mothers and single parents. Child care is going to be a disaster for me. I am not going above and beyond anymore. Typical 1% not giving a sh1t about us. If I get RIFed I am moving my money to a competitor.

Fidelity openly calculates how many people are likely to quit or push back on these terrible decisions.

People in my department openly hate each other. There are so many people that will never get along and management can’t and won’t do anything to fix the culture.

Fidelity’s weakest point is management, and this will be the downfall of the company

@aa - Yep, and on top of that, the ever increasing metrics phone reps get every year... which squeezes the rep and gives a worse/rushed experience to the client. Makes you just want to do the bare minimum to get by. I live just a few minutes away from the office, so I can easily pop in and pop out for my full shift... can't imagine having a long commute on top of it.

Fidelity is a dinosaur. They are viewed as the place your grandparent's put their money. They tried to change the optics and attract younger investors with a younger workforce/VBOs, etc. That didn't turn out too well. So now back to the old play book. Back to the office. Back to flying people around for useless offsite meetings. Back to mafia style management, etc. . You can't teach an old dog new tricks

Working from a packed office truly does enhance the associate experience. Nothing better than Suzy cracking open a soda/chip bag and other associates talking loud af right next to me when trying to talk to clients.

@b9 because if you look at the numbers described in the article and then look up the details of the fidelity expansion from 2007 they are exactly the same. And I went to the Grant website and the 8.5 mil grant is from 2007…

So glad I'm almost done with this bs. For a company that seemed to want to be progressive they are now becoming more regressive. I love the reasoning for work in the office- sounds so immature and unrealistic of what reality is.

Yeah shared desks which makes it more complicated for techs. It will be a mess and ontop of it the groups moving from Crosby to Howe. They will take up some of that "free space" with phone reps going in once a month. The new outdoor space will be packed daily.

@a1 phase 2 is middle of 2027. They will be renovating SMT/NC/WLK to increase capacity for seating. There are no plans for new buildings at SMT or NC. WLK campus might get a new build and garage.
