Anyone else wondering why EH was in India this week, visiting with Tesco?

If you survived this round and you’re not a real decision-maker in GT, it feels like it’s only a matter of time before things shift again.

Tesco now has IT capability spread across all categories of work in India — engineering, product-adjacent work, program delivery, and operational roles. That’s just the reality of how the model is evolving.

It makes you think more seriously about which parts of IT work actually stay sticky in the long run, especially if you’re an individual contributor. The list of roles that are truly insulated from global distribution is probably smaller than most people assume.

Maybe the people who got ahead of this wave last year were actually the lucky ones - already moving into new roles or companies before things tightened up further. In hindsight, being pushed to make a move might end up being better than staying and riding out the uncertainty.

For those still here, it’s hard not to feel like you’re working through ongoing change with no real clarity on where the next cut or shift comes from.

Great - Hand all the critical roles to a bunch of off-hour clowns that can't take ownership of anything, don't care about being good at their job, sign in for the two hours that overlap with WHQ, and then take days off because it's India baseball day, or some sh-t.

That'll streamline the whole thing.../s

I still think no ITC, none

hire good people here, organized

use ai, get it done

this itc is a waste of time and costs more money in the long run

also, no tax revenue to uncle sam.....the politicians should take notice on nike and reward nike for keeping jobs in the US with tax breaks, big ones.....keep it local, go usa!!!!

I am not surprised. More and more jobs will be moved offshore due to tariffs and AI investments. This will be the reality in 2026 and beyond. The middle class is being rapidly wiped out by mass layoffs, and many people are moving into lower-income brackets as companies move more jobs overseas and lay off people to invest more in AI and remain profitable. I just don't know how companies will remain profitable overall when fewer and fewer people in the US will have money to buy their goods. The only people making money now are the ones in the AI business. This K-shaped economy will become more visible in 2026 and beyond, and it will bite everyone in the a.s.s.

Let's move the whole company to India, CEO, CFO, CTO, and even the board. Think how much money we'll save. Nike can keep a PO box in Delaware.

I mean, india can do india, but I prefer to be with people of my own elk, call me crazy, don't force me to work with goobly gawk speak

EH should be required to hire his admins from ITC to see what it's like.

My exact role was opened up in India a month after I was let go last year.

not surprised, when the 2nd nike building in India was purchased with the last year, that said it all

also MD, when she was still here, fielded a live question at an all hands that was, "why are all out jobs going to india", baller question by the way, props!

her answer was, we are investing in india, that is not going away..... I mean she knew, and that was probably a year ago now....it's been in the works for a long time

no amount of posts on this forum will change that

EH sees it as a cost savings and easy win

I don't think it is a cost savings, one of those things they can't really measure, or don't care to
