Was lucky enough to get a new role before my WARN period ended and I was wondering if it’s a bad idea to update LinkedIn before getting it

If Citi doesn't know about it yes. But technically you still work for Citi during your WARN period. You are on the payroll. It's part of your severance agreement so if Citi finds out they can deny you your severance. Technically you'd be working for a competitor at the same time you are on the Citi payroll. You can roll the dice but I would try and keep it under the radar so posting on Linkedin would be foolish IMO. After your separation date, you can do whatever you want.
