Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Q1 Earnings Report

Humana probably should do their very best to artificially raise their stock today (e.g., buybacks, corporate partnership temporary buys, etc.) before the Q1 Earnings Report comes out tomorrow; before the big flop in stock price, once investors see Humana’s true financial state. Womp womp! :(

@jv I am not sure who provided the URL you cite but it was not the OP. Although, I am not sure that the article probably changed on the fly.

Corporations have arrows in their quiver, ways of temporarily inflating/influencing the stock price.

But it is only a matter of time when the world, including investors, come to the realization that replacing nurses, social workers, engineers, customer service representatives, office workers, and even provider documentation with artificial intelligence only ends up supplying a much lesser quality of service to the customer.

AI may be cheaper but it is not better quality. Nay, it is far worse than what service a comparable human being can provide. Especially when you consider that AI is not even given sufficient time for maturation.

But even so, in a world filled with human beings that every nation’s economy relies on to continue, those human beings should always come first. AI will only make the ultra rich get richer while the middle class becomes poorer and the poorest even more so.

Also, when corporations within nations (any nation, not just US) seeks to replace a large percentage of its workforce with outsourcing for reasons strictly for cost savings, that too will eventually comeback as a failed experiment or capitalist venture.

We are at a time where the fiber of employment of many are being tested; those for who’s desire is to work and make enough money to live a quiet and simple life and be able to afford a small house in a safe neighborhood and drive a vehicle that is reliable. And perhaps to enjoy a hobby or two once in a while.

But Humana and many large corporations are taking that away from their own staff and from their own citizenry, and own neighbors.

@OP According to the news articles, the financial analyst pundits have had an early peek and believe tomorrow’s Q1 report to be positive.

I suppose we will just have to wait and see tomorrow whether the financial analyst pundits or the OP are correct.
