On one hand, sure tracking is annoying. On the other hand, based on one tracker meeting series I am unnecessarily cc'd on, there are a bunch of people not getting their work done on time...

You're exactly wrong. You guys are the whole reason for it and in a few months here it will become obvious when the org gets picked apart. No special status for you now that your champion is gone.

This type of waste and duplicity of effort doesn't occur in Model e or Skunkworks. Now, legacy areas within Ford? I won't even answer that.

The funniest things I read on this site is that someone, some org, or some outsourced activity are the ones getting 'it' done. Every one is shuffling papers to themselves, their bosses or their agencies. Just a a lot of paper shuffling; a lot of presentations; a lot of tracking, but absolutely no planning; no testing, no delivering, and certainly no next generation anything.
