Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Take advantage of Skills Academy

While the culture is terrible, one thing the bank does offer is the Skills Academy. This is a huge opportunity to gather and learn new skills for your next opportunity. Not many companies offer this type or level of learning. Take advantage of this while you are here. It’s a huge advantage to add these skills to your resume. Especially any AI courses you can take advantage of. Times are tough, jobs are scarce. Take advantage of what you can. Skills you learn here are transferable. Take advantage!!!

Don’t be fooled. Skills academy is a sham. It’s the company’s way of pretending they offer learning and skill building, when it’s truly a cost-cutting effort to replace actual real paid certifications that would be transferable and valuable to other companies. The bank USED to support funding real certifications for employees. Now it’s all biased and subjective internal training that does nothing for resume building skills.

Literally every major organization and/or govt agency offers a variation of the “Skills Academy”

I can promise you for 99% of those, there is something better for free on YouTube. Unless it's bank specific, just look on YouTube
