ANI now hiring. After laying people off - not flotsam but actual good people. And now they're looking for people with experience to join. The management in ANI couldn't find their own ar-e with a map.
Some more positive news for a change. We've just had an infusion of new bodies. 6 new hires, all with Java skills and 4 transfers over from other areas to learn the Java stack. I'm also told they are currently interviewing again for several PM/PO roles which they don't seem to be able to fill. Hoping this means an end to any more redundancies.
I think I'm on the chopping block despite being more skilled than the Indians they are trying to replace me with.
Hey ho, I've been here for a long time so hopefully the redundancy will be good and I can move to a company that doesn't feel like I'm a passenger in a flaming bomber without a parachute.
Nothing concrete as of yet. Rumours of a few let go at the start of the month. If there’s going to be any it’ll likely be next week, as it was the final Thursday of May they did their brutal mass layoffs last year.
To come back to the point of this then, has anyone heard of any layoffs in ANI this month?
Ignore any replies that mention hot fish curry ; big blue or 'hopefully everyone in ANI hahaha'...i apologize for my countrymen/women
@3nk The difference is that those ‘foreign’ manufacturers sell the majority of their products in the US (such as Kubota and Toyota). Allstate only sells its product in the US and Canada.
@2zh If we follow your logic, then foreign companies should pull their operations out of the U.S. and move them back to Europe and Asia. That would put nearly 10 million Americans out of work overnight. You can't complain about Allstate hiring people overseas while ignoring that European and Asian companies have offshored millions of high-paying jobs to American workers. I guess Fox News didn't report that.
@2zh Because most decent people don't have tome for racist id--ts?
Why was the comment about bringing American jobs back to America removed?
Allstate doesn't do business in either Ireland or India. This has nothing to do with racism.
@2n9 Why hello Mr. Wilson. Another martini sir?
lol fighting about working at a terrible megacorp. I am bummed I didn’t get laid off, I was looking forward to my summer off.
Some absolute id--ts in here this week! Oh we are all going to be let go...... here's a suggestion.... do your job get paid and log off at the end of the day! And continue your life....
Look - if the skills don’t exist in the US or ANI, it’s only right that the company look to India.
@15g
Spoken like the mindlessly clapping middle management seal dead weight that's dragging the company down.
Happy motoring.
Sycophantic sh--s like you get their comeuppance eventually. Your utter incompetent brown nosing sort, whose only talent is to kiss the boss’s brown ring, always get found out. Furiously pivoting to whatever the flavour of the month is, disliked by all and doomed to a pointless life.
Good to see Stephen getting the bull by the horns here. The company is carrying a LOT of dead weight and it's time to act decisively. If people are unwilling or unable to shape up, it's absolutely correct to ship them out 👏
Thoughts to all those impacted today.
@12t let us know what happens. I’m getting my 5th team lead in six years. Constantly changing team leads and whatever people you get combined with and using to teach a new TL your job only for them to never really give a cr-p is exhausting.
Well I guess the OP was correct. Appointment on my calendar with my senior leader & HR later this morning.
There were layoffs in ANI last week.
@v3, exactly. I don’t understand this looking down on AIPL hiring by ANI employees. As a US employee, to us, all of you are offshored jobs that could have been in the US. So, let’s not play this game between us and point to the real culprits in the management who make too much money to make these decisions.
Moving jobs to India that were moved from the U.S. to Northern Ireland causing prior layoffs in the U.S....
Can't say as a U.S. employee that I feel bad for you all.
Don't think it will just be limited to ANI. It will be all locations & subsidiaries - all in the name of AI, that is barely used.
Around 1600 according to one of the great leaders Friday emails a while back. That’s down from the 2400 they used to claim under Healy. Crazy that nearly 800 jobs gone in a few years but barely a peep from the media nor politicians.
You’d even the publicity op of the economy minister and the great leader claiming £16 million for training and reskilling. Who’d have thought the phoney OBD nonsense would come to that sort of price?

Maybe the economy minister and Invest NI should be asking where all the jobs went and a few questions about ANI’s underhanded NDA tactics to get around having to do a public consultation.
@a9 oh wow! I had no idea!
@a3 still a few thousand yet.
How many people are actually left there???
