@a1 Yes, it's amazing how many managers are "retiring".
@OP that's all very nice for Microsoft employees, but we all work for Larry here. Do you think he will read the article?
This is just the first pass. People who worked there a long time are getting a retirement bonus. Once these people leave the regular layoffs will start.
Oracle is also doing it but more silently. My previous manager and a former coworker exited this way (after I was laid off that us).
