Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

No meetings today

No emails, no notable departures, and now most thinking about it into next week. Poorly executed already. At least last year was done the next day. Typical step backwards.

This is how it's always been at GT, sadly. The process drags out for 3-4 business days and then Wednesday-Thursday you get an all-clear.

@af considering there is 77,500 employees at Nike. That’s relatively small and just like all the other organizations at Nike. HR has been doing layoffs every 6 months. You just don’t hear about them as much.

It's happening this week. Senior long time Nike leader in FPE is gone today.

I have not seen or heard anything going on today or yesterday. Not sure why they sent out the email yesterday if the aren't ready to go.

It’s happening but you have to realize there is 4 organizations involved in this reorganization. There is only 900 HR (if that), not all 900 handle calls or layoffs. That means you essentially cut it down to half. Of those half, they’re in Geos and other scopes of the business. So that leaves it to around 30-40. Now do the math (1500 layoffs, 30-40 HR people)

Nike HR makes the call not to do a mass email in layoff event. They prefer to do it via zoom. If you disagree with that bring it up TH, tell her you want your badge and computer deactivated and just a email sent to your email.
